Plant-derived microfibrillated cellulose for sustainable paper and packaging

CelluComp is a Scottish industrial biotechnology company developing bio-based materials from agricultural by-products.

Its proprietary Curran technology converts sugar beet pulp into microfibrillated cellulose platelets that improve strength, smoothness and barrier performance in paper, packaging and moulded fibre.

The company also explores coatings and other industrial applications. Its facilities in Fife support research, formulation development and pilot-scale production, while commercial-scale manufacturing operates in the United States.
