GSK Wins FDA Approval for First-in-Class Hepatitis B Drug Hibsago
GSK has received FDA approval for Hibsago (bepirovirsen), a first-in-class antisense oligonucleotide given as a six-month course, for adults with chronic hepatitis B. Approval was based on the Phase 3 B-Well 1 and B-Well 2 trials, in which 19% of patients achieved functional cure versus none on placebo.
GSK to Build New Flagship R&D Centre on Cambridge Biomedical Campus
GSK will invest £400 million to build a new 300,000 sq ft R&D centre on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, home to more than 1,000 GSK scientists working across Oncology, Respiratory, Hepatology, Vaccines and HIV. The move will see GSK vacate its 50-year Stevenage site by 2029, with employees relocating in a phased move, while its Ware laboratories are upgraded to create integrated drug development and manufacturing scale-up capability.
