Phase 3 urcosimod therapy for neuropathic corneal pain

OKYO Pharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing topical therapies for neuropathic corneal pain and other ocular surface conditions.

Its lead candidate, urcosimod (formerly OK-101), is a chemerin receptor agonist designed to modulate inflammation and corneal pain signalling. Phase 2a testing provided preliminary clinical data.

In October 2026, first patients enrolled in the Phase 3 NEPTUNE study evaluating urcosimod for neuropathic corneal pain. The drug remains investigational and unapproved.

OKYO Pharma Enrols First Patients in Phase 3 NEPTUNE Trial of Urcosimod

OKYO Pharma has enrolled the first patients in NEPTUNE, its Phase 3 registrational trial of urcosimod for neuropathic corneal pain, at the Toyos Clinic in Nashville. The trial will run at sites in the US, Italy, Spain and France, with a primary endpoint of change in ocular pain on a VAS score after 12 weeks of dosing four times daily.
