The Newcastle-based company develops macromolecular crowding technologies that support cell growth and extracellular matrix formation, alongside tissue engineering platforms for cellular agriculture.

Following an October 2026 reorganisation, 3D Bio-Tissues retains the underlying patents and manufactures CityMix and CytoBoost media supplements. Sister company milieu.bio handles external sales, sample requests and customer support.

3D Bio-Tissues Becomes BSF Enterprise's Core IP and Manufacturing Hub as milieu.bio Launches

BSF Enterprise has reorganised so that 3D Bio-Tissues holds the group's IP, R&D and manufacturing, while new subsidiary milieu.bio sells its CityMix and CytoBoost media additives to biopharma, cell therapy and cellular agriculture customers. 3D Bio-Tissues will supply milieu.bio at cost-plus and receive royalties on external sales.
