Aila Biotech

Brain-targeted gene therapies for neuroinflammatory diseases

Aila Biotech is a Babraham Institute spinout developing brain-targeted gene delivery therapies for neuroinflammatory diseases. Its adeno-associated virus (AAV) platform is designed to enable cells in the central nervous system to produce immune-modulating biologics locally, with controlled expression and reduced systemic exposure.

Its lead programme, AILA-001, targets primary progressive multiple sclerosis. The company is also exploring applications in other neurological conditions associated with chronic inflammation.
