ExGen Dx

Birmingham
Founded 2011
Rapid light-based point-of-care diagnostics for infections and pathogens

ExGen Dx, previously Linear Diagnostics, is a University of Birmingham spin-out developing a portable, light-based diagnostic platform that detects multiple infections from a single sample without laboratory equipment.

The technology combines a patented optical detection method with a room-temperature amplification process, delivering results far faster than traditional PCR.

Originally developed for sexually transmitted infection testing, the platform is now being explored for antimicrobial resistance detection, food safety and defence applications.
