Rapid genomic diagnostic device for sepsis and bacterial infections

GenomeKey is a biotechnology company developing an in vitro diagnostic device that uses whole genome sequencing and machine learning to identify bacteria and their antimicrobial resistance profiles directly from patient blood within hours.

The device targets sepsis, where current culture-based diagnostics take 24 to 72 hours and have high false-negative rates.

GenomeKey collaborates with Oxford Nanopore Technologies on its sequencing approach and has received funding from CARB-X and Innovate UK.
