Mereo BioPharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing treatments for rare diseases.

Founded in 2015, its business model centres on acquiring clinical-stage programmes deprioritised by large pharmaceutical companies and advancing them through further development.

Lead programmes include setrusumab, an antibody in development for osteogenesis imperfecta in partnership with Ultragenyx, and alvelestat, an oral small molecule targeting Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency-associated lung disease.

Several oncology programmes have been out-licensed.
