Redx Pharma has appointed Dr Mei-Lun Wang, a paediatric gastroenterologist with over 25 years of clinical and drug development experience, as chief medical officer. The appointment follows the addition of gastroenterologist Dr Bernard Coulie to Redx's board on 27 August 2026, further bolstering the company's gastroenterology expertise around lead candidate RXC008 for fibrostenotic Crohn's disease.
Redx Pharma to Merge with Skye Bioscience, Backed by $125m Financing
Redx Pharma has entered a definitive transaction agreement to be acquired by Nasdaq-listed Skye Bioscience via a scheme of arrangement, with the combined company trading as Fibrx Therapeutics and led by Redx's current management team and board. The combination is backed by approximately $125 million in concurrent financings, including a $36 million Series A led by new investor Abingworth. The Series A completed on 27 August, bringing Andrew Sinclair (Abingworth) and Bernard Coulie onto the Redx board; the wider transaction remains expected to complete in Q4 2026.
