Interdisciplinary institute studying the regulatory systems of plant development

Sainsbury Laboratory Cambridge University is a research institute studying the regulatory systems underlying plant growth and development.

The Laboratory combines experimental biology with computational modelling, bringing together biologists, physicists and mathematicians to understand how plant hormones, gene networks and cell behaviour shape plant form.

Research spans shoot and flower development, petal patterning and the evolution of plant developmental genes, supported by an extensive in-house microscopy facility used across plant science research at Cambridge.
