Silence Therapeutics Agrees $1.3B Acquisition by Merck KGaA
Silence Therapeutics has agreed to be acquired by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany for $20.00 per ADS in cash, a 130% premium to its 16 October close, valuing the company at about $1.3 billion. Merck will fund Phase 3 development of divesiran, Silence's siRNA candidate for polycythemia vera, with the deal expected to close in Q1 2027 via a UK scheme of arrangement.
Silence Therapeutics Closes $201.3M Upsized ADS Offering
Silence Therapeutics has closed its upsized underwritten public offering of 14,907,407 American Depositary Shares at $13.50 per ADS, after underwriters fully exercised their option to purchase additional shares. The offering generated gross proceeds of approximately $201.3 million, up from an initial target of $150 million.
