Rapid blood biomarker test for pre-hospital stroke triage
Upfront Diagnostics is a diagnostic biotechnology company developing rapid blood tests for emergency stroke triage.
Its lateral-flow assay measures D-dimer and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) from a finger-prick sample, providing results in under ten minutes to support identification of suspected large-vessel-occlusion strokes.
The test received UKCA marking and launched in the UK in May 2026, with an initial London Ambulance Service deployment. Further clinical studies are evaluating its use in pre-hospital care.
