National genomics research and NHS whole genome sequencing

Genomics England is a government-owned organisation that partners with the NHS to deliver whole genome sequencing diagnostics and advance genomic medicine in the UK.

It operates the National Genomic Research Library, providing approved researchers with access to linked genomic and clinical data to identify the causes of disease and support new treatment development.

Current programmes include newborn genome sequencing, long-read sequencing in cancer, and initiatives to address genomic health inequalities.
