CellRepo version control and DNA traceability for engineered biology
GitLife Biotech is a Newcastle University spin-out developing software and DNA barcoding technology to track engineered biological assets.
Its CellRepo platform provides version control for cell lines, strains, plasmids and experimental records, while Genosignatures connects physical samples to digital provenance using embedded DNA barcodes.
CellRepo entered beta deployment in July 2026, supporting collaborative strain engineering, audit trails and intellectual property tracking. The company has worked with partners including Colorifix on traceability in industrial biotechnology.
