Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst

Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst is an EPSRC-funded programme helping universities and companies translate industrial biotechnology research into commercial applications.

Led by the University of Manchester with north-west academic and industry partners, it provides funding for proof-of-concept projects, knowledge exchange, industry secondments and early-stage commercialisation.

Its activities support biomanufacturing, bio-based chemicals and materials, and regional research collaboration. The initiative operates as a university-led partnership, not a separate incorporated biotechnology company.
