Microbiotica is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing oral live biotherapeutic products comprising defined consortia of gut commensal bacterial strains.
Candidate bacterial strains are identified by analysing microbiome data from clinical outcome studies, enabling mechanistically grounded strain selection.
Its lead programme, a nine-strain consortium, is in Phase 1b trials in advanced melanoma as a co-therapy with pembrolizumab in patients with primary resistance to checkpoint inhibition.

Microbiotica Presents Phase 1b MELODY-1 Data for MB097 with Keytruda in Refractory Melanoma
Microbiotica has presented Phase 1b MELODY-1 data at ESMO 2026 for MB097, its nine-strain live biotherapeutic, given with Keytruda to 41 melanoma patients who had not responded to anti-PD-1 therapy. Objective responses were seen in 14% of patients who received vancomycin preconditioning and 10% of those who did not, including one complete response, with no serious adverse events related to MB097.
Microbiotica Raises £36M Series C to Take MB310 into Phase 2 for Ulcerative Colitis
Microbiotica has raised £36 million ($48 million) in the first close of a Series C round led by the British Business Bank. The funds will take MB310 into a blinded, placebo-controlled Phase 2 trial in ulcerative colitis to confirm results from the Phase 1b COMPOSER-1 study, with Tencent, IP Group, Cambridge Innovation Capital, Flerie Invest, Seventure Partners and all Series B investors joining the round.
