Nxera Pharma UK is the Cambridge-based drug discovery arm of Tokyo-listed Nxera Pharma, formerly Sosei Heptares, operating from Granta Park with approximately 170 scientists.
Its structure-based drug discovery capabilities have produced over 50 resolved GPCR structures.
Following a restructuring in November 2025, the company refocused its pipeline on next-generation therapies for obesity, metabolic and endocrine disorders, with partnered programmes in neurology advancing with Neurocrine Biosciences and Boehringer Ingelheim.

Nxera Pharma will receive an $8.6 million milestone payment from Centessa Pharmaceuticals, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly, after Centessa reached a late-stage development milestone in its selective orexin receptor 2 agonist portfolio. The payment is triggered under Nxera's research collaboration with Centessa and will be recognised as revenue in the third quarter of the year ending 31 December 2026.

Nxera Pharma's partner Neurocrine Biosciences has received FDA IND acceptance for a Phase 2 trial of NBI-1117567 in Alzheimer's-related cognitive impairment, triggering a $10 million milestone payment to Nxera. The programme originated from Nxera's drug discovery collaboration with Neurocrine.
