Plasmonic PCR diagnostics for rapid infectious disease detection
RapidX Bio is a biotechnology company developing point-of-care molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases.
Its plasmonic PCR technology uses light-responsive gold nanorods to accelerate nucleic acid amplification and reduce sample preparation requirements. The company is developing portable tests to identify pathogens from minimally processed samples, including applications in urinary tract infections and veterinary microbiology.
Its research also explores molecular detection of antimicrobial resistance, with assay and hardware development supported by Innovate UK projects.
