Spintex Engineering is a developer of bioinspired silk fibres, produced from a liquid protein feedstock using a spider-inspired self-assembly process.
The technology requires no hazardous chemicals, with water as the only by-product, and is significantly more energy efficient than synthetic fibre production.
Spintex's fibres are aimed primarily at sustainable fashion and technical textiles, including lightweight composites for aerospace and automotive use, with additional applications in biocompatible medical textiles and regenerative medicine.
